Hampton Court Flower Show - Shop the look
hannah read
After another successful year at Hampton Court, we wanted to share with you a 'shop the look' post, to make it super easy to buy the grasses that won us our silver medal this year.
Our 2018 stand included many gorgeous grasses, which worked harmoniously together.
Our planting list included: Miscanthus Sinensis Cabaret, Miscanthus Sinensis Gracillimus, Eragrostis curvula.
In this image, you can see the varieties:
Miscanthus Sinensis Kupferberg - Providing the height to the display, this is a good choice for screening, and is an upright growing grass with open brown tinged plumes that turn into one of the most attractive winter grasses.
Pennisetum orientale Shogun - Adding a soft pink hue to the stand, the 'Shogun' has blue/green leaves and stems producing pale pink fluffy and fat seed heads turning a buff colour.
Sesleria Autumnalis - It's yellowish leaves which form an evergreen mound producing a mass of creamy seed heads. The cream tones complimented the dusky pink 'Shogun' perfectly.
Festuca glauca Blue Select - Small but perfectly formed, 'Blue Select' is a good form of the blue festuca. Evergreen in nature, it holds its colour well during the winter. It is well suited to coastal gardens.
We were lucky enough to have the gorgeous glass sculptures by the ever-talented Karen Ongley-Snook within our display again this year. Karen's glass work can be viewed on her website.
